Figures in Space began while working on the Laertes' Shroud drawings. These figurative explorations grew out of a desire to apply the spatial ideas of the Laertes' Shroud drawings to the understanding of the figurative form. Figures in Space drawings are musings on the figure as contained within the fantastical spaces, some true and some imagined, described in the Laertes' Shroud drawings.
